PRYSM
A 4-voice wavetable FM synthesizer for the M-VAVE FM-1
Two oscillators per voice, each a chain of three wavetable operators (FM, ring, mix); a resonant filter with drive; an LFO and a looping mod envelope that can drive its rate; stereo chorus, delay and plate reverb with pitch modulation and shimmer; 8 patch slots; USB audio and MIDI. Read the manual, or try it in your browser: Prysm running for real, with an editor that stays in sync with your FM-1.
- Use Chrome or Edge on a computer.
- Switch the FM-1 on and connect it straight to the computer with a USB cable that carries data. Close other music apps that might hold its MIDI port.
- Press Install Prysm and allow MIDI access when the browser asks.
- Wait until it says it is done. Do not unplug the FM-1 while it writes.
Coming from ETCH? ETCH only accepts its own updates and the official firmware: restore the
official V15 first (ETCH's installer: RESTORE - OFFICIAL V15), then install Prysm here.
Going back to the official firmware, or to another one: the
FM-1 Firmware Hub.
It does not start after an update? Hold OCT- while switching the FM-1 on (the rescue updater),
then install again.
Prysm is a community firmware, not made or supported by M-VAVE. Installing it is at your own risk: the author takes no responsibility for any damage or malfunction.
